Professor Ali Al'amin Mazrui (1933–2014) was a world-renowned Kenyan academic, political scientist, and public intellectual widely regarded as one of Africa's most influential and provocative post-colonial thinkers. Over a career spanning five decades, his extensive lectures and more than 30 books profoundly shaped global scholarship on Pan-Africanism, international politics, and Islamic studies.
