Karl Barth (10 May 1886 – 10 December 1968) was a Swiss Reformed theologian who is widely considered one of the most influential Christian thinkers of the 20th century. Often described as the father of "Neo-Orthodoxy" or "Dialectical Theology," Barth fundamentally revolutionized Protestant theology by rejecting 19th-century liberal theology and asserting that God can only be known through divine revelation—not through human reason, culture, or politics.
