Hotel De La Brinvilliers Paris French Murders Victorian Eugene Atget Photo Postcard

ABIZAHOP02 -  This is a stunning rare collectors opportunity to secure this original undated but modern origin VA& Museum photo souvenir by historic 1800s photographer Eugene Atget of this vintage 1900 dated Albumen Print of Hotel De La Brinvilliers Paris staircase from nearly 130 years ago with full details of the souvenir and its history on reverse and the V&A official museum logo too unused and mint condition.

The photo was the former residence of Marie-Madeleine d'Aubray, the notorious Marquise de Brinvilliers. In the 17th century, she sparked the famous "Affair of the Poisons" by murdering her father and two brothers to inherit their wealth. Knowing Atget's fascination with the forgotten or eerie corners of Paris, choosing this specific, stained staircase was likely a subtle nod to its criminal past
