Heinrich Von Stephan Old German Postal Telephone Service Painting FDC Postcard

TS442x  A rare opportunity to secure this circa 40 years ago origin specialist Heinrich Von Stephan limited edition German first day cover postcard with antique painting of him on the front accompanied by the special souvenir stamp with its first day of issue commemorative frank unused and mint.

Heinrich von Stephan famously orchestrated the historic 1874 Bern Conference to establish the Universal Postal Union, a monumental international achievement that permanently unified global mail rates and standardized communication worldwide. Furthermore, he completely transformed Germany's infrastructure by unifying its fractured regional mail systems, pioneering the widespread introduction of the postcard, and single-handedly spearheading the nation's very first telephone networks.
