George William Howard Earl Of Carlisle Castle Howard York Victorian Signed Letter

CHAU4761  Antique 1850 fully hand written and signed letter from George William Howard the 7th Earl Of Carlisle sent directly from Castle Howard in York (see top right of document) approx 175 years ago and a learned historian may also be able to recognise who this was sent to (see lower left) and the history linked to this letter and its date.  The former owner has mounted it on card and it is approx 9" x 6". The letter folds open and whilst the main page is not actually fixed to the card the second page is part of it, so to remove would be difficult even though the letter can be opened.  I would not recommend as there is no content of writing inside.  This has a couple of folds where originally posted, and small places also lightly aged otherwise very good condition indeed (vg) and what makes this so collectible is the full letter has been written in hand by George William Howard as opposed to just obtaining his signature. Please note this came from a very high value collection with some of the most collectible signings of historic figures from the 1800s and the letter here reads "I Remain Your Servant" implying George W Howard was writing to someone of real magnitude so this needs careful research.
