CHAU1858  Antique 1961 hand signed letter from George Ross the famous South African playwright born in Johannesburg but came to live in London and founded the Boardroom Thriller for theatres, perhaps the most famous being Guilty Party which had a huge West End success.  This letter is written from is private home address (which you can search the web and find where he resided) all written in hand and personally signed by the playwright and bar folded where posted is otherwise mint condition.

George Ross is most famous for pioneering the "boardroom thriller" genre in British theatre. Before his work, West End plays typically focused on grand drawing-room romances, historical epics, or classic murder mysteries. Alongside his co-writer Campbell Singer, Ross completely upended this by moving the high-stakes action into the mundane corporate world. The Hit Play Guilty Party (1961): This was his massive breakout success. Running at the prestigious St. Martin's Theatre in the West End, it starred legendary English actor Donald Sinden and turned a corporate audit into a thrilling whodunit. The Acclaimed Any Other Business (1957/1958): This play made corporate takeovers, board meetings, and industrial espionage feel like life-or-death situations. It was so captivating that it was adapted for television on the BBC's Theatre Night in 1957 and later featured on BBC Saturday Night Theatre.
