El Ateneo Grand Splendid Buenos Aires Argentina Theatre Radio Book Shop Postcard
ABIZTIMYBS06x This is a stunning specialist collectors modern origin real photo postcard of El Ateneo Grand Splended book store in Buenos Aires Argentina showing its amazing interior and ceiling architecture from when published unused and mint.
Long before it held books, the building housed the headquarters of the Nacional Odeón record label. Hidden away past the top balconies behind locked doors sits the legendary, high-ceilinged room where iconic tango singer Carlos Gardel recorded his earliest and most famous tracks. The theater also famously gave birth to its own radio station, LR4 Radio Splendid, which began broadcasting right from the building in 1923
