Alan MacNaughtan (1920–2002) was a highly respected Scottish character actor whose sharp blue eyes and air of sardonic elegance made him a fixture across classic British television and classical theatre.  His commanding presence meant he was frequently cast as authoritative public servants, barristers, or calculating villains. He is fondly remembered for playing Sir Geoffrey Wellingham in the cold war spy drama The Sandbaggers (1978–1980), Dr Crawley in Mr Palfrey of Westminster (1984–1985), and Sir Percy Browne (the head of MI5) in the acclaimed thriller A Very British Coup (1988).

Maurice Kaufmann (1927–1997) was a prominent English stage, film, and television character actor who specialized in thriller, mystery, and horror genres.  Kaufmann starred in several staples of classic British horror, notably playing Pierre in Blake Edwards' Inspector Clouseau comedy A Shot in the Dark (1964) and Alan Glentower in the Hammer psychological thriller Die! Die! My Darling! (1965). the foundational science-fiction horror film The Quatermass Experiment (1955).  He also co-starred directly with his then-wife Honor Blackman in the slasher film Fright (1971)
