The No. 11 Group Operations Room at RAF Uxbridge, known famously as the Battle of Britain Bunker, served as the nerve center for the aerial defense of London and the South East in 1940. Housed deep underground to survive heavy bombardment, this specialized plotting room coordinated fighter squadrons to intercept incoming Luftwaffe raids. The subterranean command center meticulously tracked active operations using a massive map table, a system that successfully secured victory in the skies and was later visited by Winston Churchill during the height of the conflict.
