"...Thomas Voeckler (born 22 June 1979 in Schiltigheim, France) is a French former professional road racing cyclist and current national coach for the France cycling team. He turned professional in 2001 at age 21 with the Bonjour team after relocating from Martinique to mainland France, and remained with the same organizationlater known as BBox Bouygues Telecom, Europcar, and Direct Énergiethroughout his 16-year career, retiring on 23 July 2017 during his final Tour de France on the Champs-Élysées. 

Voeckler participated in 15 editions of the Tour de France, where he achieved his greatest fame through resilient breakaways and defensive rides in the yellow jersey, wearing it for a total of 20 days across two notable stints of 10 days each in 2004 and 2011. He secured four stage victories in the race (stages 5 in 2009, 15 in 2010, and 10 and 16 in 2012) and won the mountains classification (polka dot jersey) in 2012, highlighting his climbing prowess despite not being a pure Grand Tour contender. Additionally, he claimed the French national road race championship twice, in 2004 and 2010, and triumphed in several prominent stage races, including the general classification of the Tour de Luxembourg in 2003, Étoile de Bessèges in 2009, and Tour de Yorkshire in 2016.
