Jenna Russell took over the role in 2016 and make her debut in the 2016 Christmas Show Episode.

In Red Dwarf Jenna Russell recorded her iconic, upbeat vocals for the theme song in the late 1980s for composer Howard Goodall. Her jazzy performance provides an ironic contrast to the lyrics, which describe the lonely and freezing reality of being stranded in deep space. Remarkably, her original 1988 vocal recording has been kept intact for nearly every episode throughout the show's extensive run.

https://postcardfinder.co.uk/products/jenna-russell-red-dwarf-michelle-fowler-eastenders-hand-signed-theatre-photo-flyer
